The Princess Bride Fan Art

I’ve started making some group caricatures of my favorite movies.

This one is the Princess Bride. I remember the first time I saw this great movie.

I was in high school, and My English teacher, whose name escapes me entirely, allowed us to watch this as part of class. She was a cool teacher. She used to have us read aloud from books like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. We had two guys who could really act who read and acted it out and it was the one bright spot in my otherwise bleak day.

Man, did I hate school. I was so bored. But one good thing came out of it. I became an artist. In part because a jerk who went to high school with me named Seth Andrews, who laughed at me when I said I wanted to be an artist when I grew up.

I showed him didn't I?

But I digress..

This was created by sketching each character the old-fashioned way - on paper - then scanning them and putting the images together including the background. Then I painted the image digitally. I was still teaching myself to paint digitally when I created this so it is a little flat. (I drew this in 2021. I'm just now learning how to get my blog posts optimized. Duh.)

I read recently that Mandy Patinkin, who played Inigo, says that not a day goes by without someone asking him to say "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Is that a blessing or curse? Not sure. Maybe go watch the movie Galaxy Quest, then make up your mind lol
